Penny for your GAMES
Griffen had been asking to have a birthday party. Since we moved to a bigger house this last week, we decided to let him have just that… What do you do for an 8-year-old boy?
PENNY GAMES!!!!
We chose 2 colors – Blue and Green (and bought decorations to match)
Game#1 – Run By Drop: for this game, take 2 egg cartons and paint them team colors. Each kid gets 5 pennies and as they are running by, need to drop their pennies into the egg carton. They get 1 point for each penny that successfully falls into the carton.
Game#2 – Penny Toss: Draw circles in the team colors on an over sized piece of paper and kids stand 6 feet away and toss 5 pennies each onto the paper. They receive 1 point per penny that lands in their color of circle… however the opposite team gets a point for each penny that lands in their color.
Game#3 – Penny stacking: Each person stacks as many pennies in a stack as they can in 15 seconds. Each person receives one point per penny in their stack.
Game#4 – Gelatin Dig: add 40 pennies to each of 2 bowls of gelatin. put 2 minutes on the clock. Each child takes turns trying to get out as many pennies as they can using 2 butter knives.
Game#5 – Spoon Carry: 50 pennies in a kitchen spoon, run and carry them around the cones. Pass the spoon to the next player and they have to run the pennies – 10 extra points to the first across the line. 1 point per penny in the spoon at the end.
Make metals for everyone out of felt and add a penny to the center.
