Decorate with pinecones (Happy Birthday Aunt Donna)
Pinecone TreeCreate a pinecone tree on a cone-shaped foam base. Anchor the base in a container, then wire the cones onto 2-inch wooden floral picks. Insert picks downward into the foam, starting at the bottom with the largest cones and working to the top with the smaller ones. Conceal the foam by tucking sheet moss among the pinecones.
Gold Pinecone Ornament
Tie individual pinecones, gilded or left plain, to ribbons of varying lengths. Suspend them from a dining-room chandelier for a dramatic effect, or hang them from an outdoor porch light. Give a gift of a dozen pinecone ornaments — a mix of gold and silver, perhaps — in a simple egg carton, a perfect storage container.

Welcome guests with a dramatic swag of flocked sugar pinecones and lichen-covered twigs accented with incense cedar and other holiday greens, some right from the yard.
